Shari Rogal, MD MPH

Professor of Medicine, Surgery, and Clinical and Translational Science

Dr. Rogal serves as the Associate Director of the Pittsburgh VA’s Center for Healthcare Evaluation Research and Promotion (CHERP) and Directs the Dissemination and Implementation Science Collaborative (DISC) at the University of Pittsburgh. She conducts implementation science research focused on developing and testing methods to promote data-driven implementation strategy selection in order to improve the equity and quality of health care across areas, including cancer screening, diabetes care, HIV prevention and care, and liver care.

Shari Rogal, MD MPH

Associate Professor of Medicine and Surgery

Rogal is the John J. Fung Assistant Professor of Transplant Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and serves as the Co-Director of the Implementation and Dissemination Core at the Pittsburgh VA’s Center for Health Equity Research Program (CHERP’s). Her research interests include improving waitlist and transplant outcomes by addressing symptoms and quality of life, studying liver transplant outcomes among chronic liver disease patients, improving the management of mental health symptoms, addiction, and pain in patients with chronic liver disease, and developing implementation strategies to reduce disparities in hepatitis C treatment among vulnerable populations.
