Maya Ragavan, MD, MPH, MS
Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Public Health, and Clinical and Translational Science, Division of General Academic Pediatrics, University of Pittsburgh
Maya Ragavan’s work, funded by the NIH, CDC, PCORI, and Office of Violence Against Women, focuses on intimate partner and dating violence prevention as well as promoting language equity in healthcare and research. She is a nationally known expert in community-partnered research approaches and supporting survivors of IPV in healthcare spaces. She also holds several leadership roles including Associate Vice Chair of Engagement Research for the Dept of Pediatrics, Co-Core Director for the University of Pittsburgh CTSI Community Engagement Core, and Co-Faculty Lead for the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Community Alliance Program. She is currently PI or Co-PI on 6 federally funded projects and has over 100 publications in high impact journals including JAMA Pediatrics, JAMA Network Open, and Pediatrics.

Maya Ragavan is the Associate Core Director for the Clinical and Translational Science Institute Community PARTners Core and co-faculty lead of the Community Alliance Program. Her research interests focus on preventing intimate partner violence (IPV) and examining the impact of cultural and structural racism on IPV survivors and their families. Dr. Ragavan is deeply passionate about lifting community voices and ensuring language equity in research.
